Default dbox2 picture quality and scan fault

hi all

i am quite new to dbox's but have flashed 5 for friends lately without a problem but the latest one has several problems, firstly the picture quality of the menu system is very poor, like when a pc is running on 16 colours. and when the cable is plugged in it goes worse. if i run a scan the quality gets even worse, i am using laki pro and during scanning you get a circle with the outside rotating on the screen but you can hardly make it out it is so fuzzy and the screen starts to pulse bright and dark and it finds no stations, if i remove the cable feed the picture interference goes but still the quality is poor. i have tried three different images with no difference. any help would be gratefuly recieved.

thanks

garyb

Sounds more like a dodgy scart connection to me.

thanks shaddax

i tried both scart sockets and several scart leads with the same result. i have removed the modem in case it was draining power or interfering and have re soldered all the pins on the tuner and scart sockets but still the same. i think it is time to read the last rights and give it a good burial.

thanks again
