Ch 4 FTA signal off air - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

Better put this in the correct thread.

Ch 4 FTA, I noticed it down at 7.00p.m. last night, still down this morning at 8.30a.m.

If its on test, no way will freesat commence yet,I would think, anyone else comment about this. Has it moved.

For the past few days no sound,perfect picture,might this mean the dam
freesat boxes may have a device installed to get sound,or what

Anybody any idea, also I know its on test.

The audio pid is still active - its just not carrying any sound.

According to an unconfirmed report over on DS Sky customer support staff have been instructed not to make any more references to E4/More4 within the sky packs as they will be removed from the Variety pack on May 6th.

Interesting stuff! That would certainly boost sales.

If it is true, I bet the marketing department at freesat don't know yet! Rumour has it it they've just been assigned a new project. PR for Prince Harry. They are thinking of sending him for a second stretch in Afghanistan. No-one (including them) will ever know his whereabouts again!

Possibly not until late 2009 when we think the encryption contracts expire. There have been no indications of them going fta in the near future. (Although things change fast in the world of satellite!)
