I have a starview which says Star View on the top left, Digital Reciver on the top right, with all the buttons in the middle (is that a starview 1?). Anyway when I go on the gtrom loader I get ''flash update failed". Now I know I'm using the correct COM port and I know the lead works as I've used it with another box but for somereason the box isnt picking up the lead for some reason.. I don't have a clone so I know I'm not using the wrong firmware.. I'm using the latest gtrom loader too (v4).
Anyone else had this problem and knows how to recify it? thanks |

Even if it was a clone putting the non clone firmware wouldnt stop it flashing but it would cause issues later on,
If its a genuine and you put clonesafe on it then it wont make a difference, What do you get on the display of the box?? Marc |

If its not taking a flash then it could be that the flash on there is either wrong and has corrupted the flash chip or the box is knackered, Is it possible it was flashed with the wrong file ie for a sv2 or 3 ? When you load the bin file, click APP file only then hit download and THEN turn the box on? Marc |

The current software version on the box is the 3.00e_E from May 2007. It hasn't been flashed since I don't think. This is the box that I have: So I know that mine isn't the fake. Thanks for your input sofar |

The other box I did was a Eurovox, so I new the cable worked fine as I used it on that. I'm trying to put the "Starview 1 fix" thats on the BIGMAQ toolbar (the link to the file is in a sticky on here I belive also.

why not try and put 4.00e_E on it first, make sure its the correct software u use, then if that works reflash with the fix for starview 1 .
