Question Soldering JTAG & Flashing Virgin SB5101E

Hi TW,

Can anyone link me to a guide that has step by step instructions on how to hack the 5101e surfboard modem installing JTAG and all. I assume that the procedure is the same for all the 51XX series modems? as i have a good 5100 guide now that i can use if the same.

When installing JTAG do you solder the bottom pins (2,4,6,8,10) together even when using PIN HEADERS???.

Finally i dont have hyperterminal installed on my pc is there any substitute that i can use instead like (Htpe63hyperterminal6.3) Thank you.

solder each pin seperately and you dont use hyper terminal via jtag you use SchwarzeKatze also known as blackcat software then you will need the fersca hack firmware

here m8 use solderless press on 10 pin headers they are the business easily removed or just leave it on the board; the full 10 pin header goes onto the board no more solder irons required they press on and pop off 2.50 each and worth every penny blackcat m8 take about 20 min depending on how fast your computer is
