lolz, that video is funny, mainly because therea a guy talking abot macs freezing and losing files.Meanwhile I use PC's at work and probably have to reboot an average of 3 times per day.Used the Same mac at home for the past 5 years and never had to reboot once.in fact in 5 years I think I've only shutdown 4 or 5 times. It stays on 24/7 and never lost a single file.

I guess the answer is what you need is what you buy. I tried to disaude my son from buying a Mac, but as he was doing a HNC in graphic design he said the Mac was "The D*** B*******" , and i think he's right. I've used his machine and initially found it difficult because of my infamiliarity with it, but the more i use it, I'd say my next machine will be a Mac.

Hi,
I own a MacBook (Core2duo model) In Black with 2GB ram and 120GB internal space. It was my dream to have such an amazing machine. My pc has 3GB ram and 500GB space, but it is in no way the same. I am a mac geek, I always want to review products that in some way have a design that looks "apple" I have had no problems so far and I doubt I ever will. I use it at east 7 hours a day. It runs perfect, silent! I will never go back to my noisy PC, No need with parallels! Defiantly Mac, there is no 2 ways about it. 1. Quality 2. Support 3. Value. You get what you pay for, so dont expect any of those 3 points when buying a dell!

Mac used to have different software and different hardware then PC. Now you can get Intel based Mac running Windows. The only thing that is Mac-like on such computer is the price tag... Macs are good for specialist tasks but for for every day multimedia use. Sure you can use them but it is just much inferior value/price compared to a PC. But with e.g. ProTools for audio editing Mac would be the first most obvious choice for me (...if I was a rich man I should add...

Mac all the way for me. I swapped about 3 years ago and never looked back. I still us PC's all the time but they are poor in comparison. Vista is a poor mans OSX and yes you do need a PC to do certain things but for everyday use and all media work Mac's are way better and more reliable. Besides you can run windows via boot camp, parallel and virtual pc! It just takes time to learn the OS…

Macs were the machines of graphic design in the early days. Even today, most graphic designers use macs. Kindof a reputation thing.
I use PCs. I've grown up with them, and I believe that macs are just nicer-looking and better marketed. The Mac vs PC argument when it comes to computational power, is void because they are both have equally powerful counterparts. PCs have faster components and their hardware is more actively developed. you can't really just upgrade your mac so easily. When it comes to software you can pretty much get anything on a mac and on a pc. There are exceptions in the realm of Music and video software. But I believe it's more the music side of things. For work, I prefer PCs as they are more versatile. For play, I could live with a mac - they look pretty. Never for work though. I don't like the mac workflow when it comes to design/webdevelopment. Nice to pull one out at a client meeting though. But seriously, Macs are just super marketed (and elegantly designed) - ever since the iPod exploded, they are just plugging away making the mac seem super cool. And it's working. As for operating systems, XP has always been ugly - Vista seems to be a huge improvement interface wise, Mac os X has always been very pretty and intuitive. Leopard looks interesting. </opinion> |
