Use both at work and home, and I have to say that Macs are much more reliable than Windows PCs on both the hardware and OS fronts. Never had a hardware problem in 14 years of Macs, just wish I could say the same about the PCs I've had.

I've got a PC, Macbook Pro and a Mac Mini connected to a 40" TV. Brill to look at the internet on and other things on!

Disregarding the Apple hype, is this still true? And why?
Why would a Mac be faster than my PC (with an overclocked 1Gb NVidia graphics card) for image/video editting?

Apple seems to be designed for plug and play types. For those that like to tinker, PC is king. I find that 'lifestyle' products have only limited appeal. I owned an Ipod once. It was nice to look at but I found it very restrictive.

Mac all the way for Video and Photography, rock steady platform. PC for tinkering, but flakier operating system, I use both - and each has its use.
