i have an old ntl cable modem is there anything i can do with this to get faster broadband or anything? its bout 2 yr old? (im using a newer virgin meda modem tho) would be really appreciated

its an ntl 250 mac if thats helps. im a novice by the way just wanting to learn

1st off, if its old, NO NOT CONNECT TO CABLE FEED. if you want to ensure its working ok, connect via ethernet and look at 192.168.100.1 and browse the modems internal web pages. you could hit refresh and watch it trying to search for a frequency if you bored enough. then read the threads, then decide if your going to buy a max232 and flash it.
