Default Flashing eurovox with Null-Modem Cable & USB to RS232 Adapter

I recently purchased Null-Modem Cable & USB to RS232 Adapter?Help!

My intention was to plug the null modem cable into the adapter and use a USB port instead of having to plug the null modem cable into the back of the pc tower.

However when it is connected to the USB port and I run the flash update for the Eurovox nothing happens it just shows “com 1” in the box.
Should I be doing something else?

If I click on START a box comes up with radio buttons to select com 1 com 2 com 3 or com 4
I have not tried the other options it is at com 1 by default

Hope you can help.
Thanks.

You will have to go into device manager and see what port your Seriel to USB is assinged ,no doubt it will be 16 or something right click on it and force change it to port 3 and run your software again it will say port in use just ok this hopefully this helps

Tell it to use 3 or 4 and try it.

You'll get an error message saying something about it will cause you problems if you use ports 1-4 but don't worry about it, just click ok and you'll be working again in no time.

Just make sure the usb port assigned is the one you're plugged into!

Hi Guys

Go easy on me on this one....I'm still a "newbie"

I've bought a USB to RS232 cable, have attached it to my laptop and box. When I try to flash it just scans Com 3 and 4 ports and can't find the Eurovox.

Please help!!
