Default Polarity

Normally to add a new TP polarity is either 'H' or 'V'. The other day I saw 'R' and 'L', what does this mean?

regards

quoted from an article

L = Left, R = right for circularly polarized DBS satellites.

H = horizontal, V = vertical for linearly polarized satellites

It stands for Left and Right hand circular polarization and is more common on 'C' band. I don't believe you can receive these without the correct equipment, or some serious modification to a 'Ku' band setup.

There are a few L&R Ku band sats in the skies above Europe - mainly operating into Russia. I think Eutel W4 has L&R on it.

Youcan just about watch H/V signals on a circular polarity lnb, - Ive tried it - but the losses are truly horrendous, and its only possible on very strong signals.
