After about two years of having two LNBs on a larger dish for 19.2E and 13E and one LNB on a smaller dish for 28.2E, I wonder if a third LNB could be installed on the bigger dish for 28.2E. If that is feasible, could the smaller dish then be used to capture, say 16E, or does that bird require a larger dish? I have three LNBs working and facility for a fourth in the system.
Weather's getting better in Scotland and the old brain's beginning to work again!!

Hi,
Depending on dish size you can have 28E,19E,16E and 13E on one dish. 16E does need at least an 80cm, depending on location. With all 4 LNBs on a dish, it is necessary to use the Alps narrow feedhorn LNBs and to modifify the holders a little so that you can get them close enough. What size dishes do you have? Robbo ![]() |

I think the plan for 13e, 19e and 28e on one dish with 16e on the spare is probably better --- assuming the spare dish is about 80cm for 16e. This will save cost (particularly having to buy thin/Alps LNBs) and will assure more stability on 16e.

The large dish is 85 cm and the smaller one is 65 cm. From what you say, Robbo, I would need to have the 16E LNB one on the bigger dish. What, then, would be the possibility of receiving 16E, 19.2E and 28.2E all on the big dish and moving the smaller one to 13E? That would sound more equally spaced as these LNBs are not the slimline ones - or does that sound silly?

The problem is that you still have 16E and 19E on the one dish, there won't be enough space to get them close enough. What might possibly work without having to go and buy the narrow LNBs is to put 13E and 19E on the 65cm dish, and 28E and 16E on the 85cm dish.
The 16E would be at the focus on the 85cm. either 13E or 19E at the focus on the 65cm dish.( or have both off focus if you have the hardware) |

Thanks, that seems to make sense - although I might just invest in the narrow LNBs.
