I too had Sky, but got fed up with paying for adverts that are too long, too many repeats, and not much worth watching on the movie channels.

There were a few programs I liked watching, Star trek and Lost for example, but I soon got over it.

Funnily enough, I'm thinking of going back, my son wants The Simpsons, unless SkyOne comes back to cable (highlight to reveal hidden word)

Just interested, because you seem to be very anti subscription dodging and I would like to know if you have had a bad experience whilst watching Pay TV? I, and the vast majority of those on here, have no problem with watching Pay TV without valid subscription, and I don't for the life of me understand just why you are so much against doing so.

Very best regards Wez
I don't see why I need to answer, that I think people should be paid and if paying SKY is helping employee people from the actors, production staff to people working in a call centre in Scotland then I think its worth it.

What is the reason you can't or wont answer remlap? You seem to have plenty to say about just about everything else, but not about you viewing habits, past or present.

As for that ignorant lot in Glasgow, they are nothing other than pupets, with Rupert's hand up their backside. The reason I finally quit Sly was because of the treatment I had from one of those you are so keen to keep in a job, he was pig ignorant to me on the phone and hung up on me in the end. I called and candled my subscription imminently, that was after 7 years with Sly.

I don't think that, but for Sly, the actors would be out of a job.

Very best regards Wez

I think the Sky package is actually very good, if overpriced.

I very much look forward to the day when everything is owned by Murdoch and encrypted in NDS, because once it's hacked, we'll be able to watch everything every provider has to offer!

That's invariably what happens when all the eggs get put in one basket.

There'll be no point watching the news, or any documentaries though, because it'll all be made up in some virtual studio somewhere, and nobody would care anyway because they'll never leave the house, so what does it matter?

Uncle R will provide.

Let's just vote him into power now and save a few years of goofing about

Ooh, why haven't we had a pointless and stupid rant thread before!

I never knew it could be so much fun!

Remlap, out of interest do you subscribe to Sky?, I dislike Sky, due to the Sky Road Show antics of the reps, "The only way to get digital after the switch off is to subscribe to Sky" is what they peddle. This was said by them last week in Wrexham Town Centre. All lies of course.

I await your responce on wether you sub to Sky, seems like you do, it appears you are also envious of those who get programmes for free.

We have SKY, im not envious of others who get things for free.

Multi Sat to me is not about wooh its free who awesome, Ill cancel SKY, two months later the package is closed and your buggered.

Wooh you have dreamboxes, wooh this does than that, I can get whoo Cyfra on a cardshare look at this and that, and that is to me what a waste if your only interest is getting something for nothing.

People like these make me sick.

The only problem in all this is that Sky is very overpriced. Up until the time I retired, I had a full Sky package and was pleased to have it. Unfortunately a retirement pension, even a suplemented one, does not leave much money for the full Sky package so that had to go. As it happens, my Digibox and card allows me to watch all the FTV channels and that is enough for me. As for Five being a lot of American rubbish, there is enough to make it worthwhile for me and the Australian rubbish is also watchable.

My Dreambox gives me a lot of additional options particularly in the sports programmes so why knock anything. Its all good.

ETA: so what about people who watched or sought to watch it in the periods when it was encrypted in Biss?
