Then that what they want, does that have anything to do with what this post is about, the majority here seem to think that multi sat is only about getting as much as possible for free.

Then that's what they want too! So leave and let be; do your thing, let others do theirs.

Well, they don't get motorised to watch Sky do they. A motorised/multsat dish is about choice. I choose to get as much FTA stuff as I can with it, I also have a DigitalB card.

Actually there are a number of points worth bearing in mind:

1. When people come here asking about football on satellite, majority of the time they are advised to subscribe in order to have guaranteed viewing --- granted that DigitAlb is generally recommended as a good cheap option.

2. There is a lot of football and other stuff available FTA (unencrypted) that people are informed about legitimately --- e.g. today's Man U match is available totally FTA on a number of channels/sats; how can it then be wrong to tell people that they can see it without necessarily subscribing to Sky?

3. A lot of people here are not merely interested in free stuff but the whole fun of the stuff (yes, including getting free stuff); but just locking a satellite, getting the new chanel even though you may not watch it again after the fist time. For example; just for the hell of it I once tried and did successfully lock 16e with a Zone 2 dish; lately I have been trying to lock Nilesat with an 80cm (I've actually got a lock once but not strong enough and I'm sure I'll do it this summer) ---- neither of this because I wanted to watch anything on them particularly.

4. Sky is ridiculously expensive; they deserve no sympathy on the football and sports because they do not have to pay as high as they do for the rights; rather they chose a particular strategy in order to drive competitors out and then be able to charge Joe Bloggs ridiculously. Before Sky we watched top flight football, cricket etc on BBC/ITV/Ch 4 and the world did not collapse. It is the kind of business strategy employed by Sky and other companies, among other things, that drive the prices of everything up and make things more difficult for folk to afford.

This post itself has started to degenerate into a rant so I'd better quit while ahead --- it is just not good to denigrate "the majority" of the members of a forum the way that happened.

Be it compromised packages, FTA or live feeds, we are fortunate to have all these choices to rant about. It's all about having something to do instead of sitting watching telly and vegetating. Of course if you prefer to do this then you're in the wrong place. You need to be in the cable section.

Tomorrow I shall watch Liverpool beat Chelsea, by steering my motorised
dish to 7E, to watch RTS1, yes its FTA, while those who watch Sky pay through the nose.

Why do you think im anti FTA?

Why do you have treat me like an idiot, isnt that disrespecting me?

You have a clear anti SKY be fn whoop, get over it, I dont personally care what you think same as you dont care what I think, but you seem to think I'm anti anything other than SKY.

You are VERY wrong, now stop trying to flame bait me, its annoying and shows how low you really are.

Well we all like some freebies remlap, from what I have seen, on another forum, even you seem to find the draw of the Diablo cam to be irresistible. From the way you were asking for help with the Diablo, it would appear that you have given in to the allure of the encrypted channels, that can be viewed, for free, using the Diablo cam. I suppose you will tell us that you were enquiring for a friend. I find your hypercritical, I am holier than thou, attitude to be a bit rich.

I can understand why you did not want to answer my question, regarding your viewing habits, I suppose you could not answer it truthfully as it would have shown you for what you are, a hypocrite

Regards Wez

I am not a hypocrite, I was trying to view the Nordic public broadcasters channels not for viewing, since I am fascinated with other broadcasters and if the diablo allows me to do that Im a very pro do that, I am in now way interested in them for general viewing.

Is there anything wrong with that, general curiosity not getting something for nothing.

Okay, let's calm down please, folks - let's try and keep the barbs from the posts, and not let friction interfere with a good discussion topic, thanks.
