After moving a LG LCD TV from the USA the picture will only display in black and white, although the menus are in colour. What could be causing this?

Have you changed the picture settings to PAL from NTSC?

According to LG there is no way to change formats as these models do not contain the necessary hardware for PAL. So, an expensive mistake no less.

Hi Y1P,
You might be able to view satellite channels on your TV, if you set the satellite box to output a NTSC signal to the TV, worth a try anyway. Hope you get it sorted anyway, as it would be a shame to have a good LG TV and it no good to you.

You may be able to find a suitable converter, PAL to NTSC, like this for example:-
http://www.howtoconvert.co.uk/howpal2ntsc.htm

There must be loads if you google.

Failing that i'm sure you can get a PAL to NTSC modulator of some sort

I know you can get a SECAM to PAL modulator so it may be worth exploring this option
