I want to buy a motorised system and have it installed professionally. I've had a 1m dish in the past and changed it's position manually. I can "see" from approx 30 degrees east to 30 degrees west. All I want to watch are FTA channels and news feeds. I reckon a 90cm dish should suffice for this. The dish would be mounted on a pole in the garden. Could anyone give me a very rough figure as to the cost of all this? I live in Coventry. Thanks for any help.

It is not difficult to install it yourself mate and it will save you a fair bit too.
The thing which puts most people of self installation is that they, mistakenly, assume that the dish needs to be mounted high up, but there is no need to have it high up, unless there are obstructions in the way. It is far better to have the dish low down as it is easier to work at and it will need to have the odd tweak done to it, after high winds have moved it is one occasion. If you do the install yourself you are well qualified to do the tweaking, whereas if you have an installer do it, you will have to call him out again and pay for that visit also. I would say that it is vastly more pocket friendly to do the relative easy installation yourself and gain the experience to allow you to avoid the outlay of further visits from the installer. There are several stickies on the subject of self installation and you should have a look at them before you fork out for an installation. Very best regards Wez
