Default scientific atlanta 2100

hey i just brought a calbe box and with it i got a scientific atlanta 2100 modem it says epc2100r2 on the label thing if that helps, i think even thoe the box doesnt say this but i might be wrong i think the modem is a webstar 2100 after looking at pictures, but you guys usually know your stuff and im just wondering is there anything i can do with this ? cheers mike

yes, you can flash this with infinite firmware, change mac and away you go, best thing i found was to treat it as if its an ambit ntl-250 modem, and follow the 250_guide, cos they are basicly the same modem

Cheers for the info mate im going to give it ago just going to order myself a max 232 lead and follow the tutorial... this is a bit off topic but once i get the modem up and running say i get 7mb on that which is the same as what im using now if i put both modems on same cable and both into pc would i get double when i download things ?

no you only want 1 modem on, and you will get 20meg, i think you need to do a bit of reading up first on what its all about, the haynes modem guide is a good starter and theres plenty of info around the forums

I have one of these too, where can i find the tutorial to get it up to 20MB?
