Technomate 1500c+i
90cm motorised dish I set my system up a while ago, but have been unable to really play about with it untill recently. I have a reasonably good signal strength throughout the arc, but cannot understand why i dont seem to be able to get a picture on any of the bbc channels on 28e. I am getting 90% strength and about 68% quality but just a blank screen. It really is doing my nut in! Am i being stupid, or can someone give me some advice. Please help a poor demented soul. |

9 times out of 10 the dish is pointing at the wrong satellite - normally 19E.

Are you getting a picture on any of the other channels on 28E?
Can you list a couple of them? Try doing a rescan on 10773H or 10788V, what channels do you get? Robbo ![]() |

I would not be any way happy with a signal quality so low, at times of high winds I have bother with Thor, on my small dish, even when I have 68% quality I do not get a picture. Your quality is the more important of the two signal strengths and on Astra2 you should be getting a far better quality strength than that which you are.
Your dish might well be on Astra1 and though you are getting the readings they are not what they should, because the frequency or FEC or Symbol Rate is not exactly right. For the two Astras and Hotbird, even Sirius you should be getting far higher readings. As has been suggested, by AS and hinted at by Robbo, I feel you are not on Astra2. try as Robbo suggests and see if you get high signal readings from the transponder setting he has suggested you look at. Very best regards Wez
