Hi, don't really know what you are talking about. The LNBs distance from the dish is governed by the focal length of the dish and cannot be moved about willy nilly, it has to be close to the focal length of the dish. You may well think that some dishes you see have longer arms for holding the LNB, but they must be bigger dishes.

Hope this is of help, but I doubt it, but it is the way things are.

Very best regards Wez

I am not sure about this, but I think I now understand what you might be on about.

Is it that the arm which comes from the dish has got a long thing on the end of it? Please let me know and then we might be in business.

Very best regards Wez

The picture is of a dish that is used for data transmissions, special broadcasts or satellite telephone, in this case from Hughes. It has nothing, on earth, to do with satellite TV.

The reason the LNB arm looks so long is because the dish is a small portion of a large elliptical dish, which would have quite a long focal point.

The dishes in the background are very interesting. They look a bit like picnic benches.

I think the OP is probably getting at dishes being put up at newsagents for their National Lottery communications.
