Default Are any of these Cams any good?

Hi Nickha,
I hope I am not troubling you too much, but I would like to know which, if any, of these old cams I have lying round are of any use to me. I have the following cams and cards.

(1) Matrix Reloaded Cam Mrb V3.07 CAM Connected Xilinx XC9536XL CPLD Version 4 detected
Manufacturer ID: 0xAD Device ID: 0x2249 Flash: HYNIX HY29LV160

(2) White Ice Cam Firmware V0.80 CAM Connected Xilinx XC9536XL CPLD Version 4 detected
Manufacturer ID: 0xC2 Device ID: 0x0049 Flash: MACRONIX MX29LV160BTC

(3)Matrix Reborn V 3.12 CAM Connected Xilinx XC9536XL CPLD Version 4 detected Manufacturer ID: 0xC2 Device ID: 0x0049 Flash: MACRONIX MX29LV160BTC

Looks like the Ice cam has been rewritten with a Matrix Xilinx file, not that I am very well up on what is what with cams. I got the above information from the Cas 3

I have got two Blue Titanium Cards, three gold wafer cards and a fun 5 card.

I have a Cas interface 2 and a Cas 3.

I used to use the reborn and the rev, but not for a long time. I also have, what I think used to be a X Cam, it is in a case without any writing on it, but it will not read in the Cas 3, so it must be knackered.

Is there any way, or is it worth it, of doing the Ice Cam, with some other Xilinx firmware, please?

Can any of the cams be used for the Biss channels and if so what would I need to do the job, please?

I look forward to any help you can give me and anything will be very much appreciated and welcome.

Very best regards Wez

I used to use a Matrix Revolutions cam to open up D+ but thats long gone now

I think there is still some support for the matrix cams although i've no idea what you can open with them now

Have a look over on the Dark place there is still fairly new files coming out for the matrix cams

I'm looking at a Diablo cam for my Humax receiver to get a bit more life out the old dog

You can always keep the cards for the winter. They make great ice scrappers or failing that i'm sure they are still of some use on cable boxes
Stick em on ebay if you can't find a use for them, theres always someone that will buy them, probably me as i like playing with old gear Still got an old Nokia D2Mac decoder somewhere up the loft if i haven't already binned it

Thanks Nano,
I only just joined the dark side today, to see what was happening on there. Seems they are not too keen on anything that might hurt poor old Rupert.

Might just put the cards on the bay and wait the month for the money from paypal.

Very best regards Wez

There are files for the Matrix Reborn to open premiere, Digi TV and Polsat.
You can play around with the others using your Cas 3, but official support for the Matrix Cams ended some time ago.
Everyone now wants the Diablo 2.3, for Canal Digital, but at nearly £90 it all depends how much you want to view Canal Digital and then guessing how long it will stay open, and if it will ever be available on general emulation.

Thanks Mickha,
I was hoping that the Conax hack would soon be on an EMU and there would be no need for me to buy the new Diablo cam. Your point about how long it will stay open is a very valid one and at the price the new Diablo costs, it would be worthwhile waiting to see if become available on some of the EMUs. I like the Discovery/NG channels and will miss them when digi goes to N3, so I shall have to look elsewhere for them and the Nordic versions of them would fill the gap very well.

Thanks again Nickha, hope it is soon on some EMU.

Very best regards Wez
