Heres the detail I got from dishpointer - does that tell you anything useful
I was hoping to pick up polsat and art for the footy.. Latitude: 55.846° Longitude: -4.346° Satellite: 28.2E Astra 2A-B-D Elevation: 20.1° Azimuth (true): 142.4° Azimuth (magn.): 147.1° Skew: -12.6° |

Yes your longitude is 4 odd degrees west.
Art and Polsat are on 13E so you shouldn't have a problem. Although with a 1m dish you might be cutting it a bit fine for 1W with 18 inch brackets. If I were you I would get the 24 inch ones just to make sure, as your dish is going to end up with its zero position with the dish at 90 degrees to the wall. 1W will be 3 degrees odd out from the wall, and 13 E about 17. This assumes that your wall faces exactly East. |

I have the same set up as you. (got it up Thursday
) I used the bracket that came with the kit and it is more that strong enough. The only thing I had to do was use some better wall bolts due to the stupid bricks on the side of the house. Personally I didn't find it that difficult to get up. Don't know if it will help but here is an image.![]() |

All up and running, receiver patched, soft cam keys loaded and Ive even surprised my self, the dish is following the arc. (second attempt mind!) The only problem I have is that there are just so many channels on the thing its going to take me weeks to get some sort of channel list together.
Ouch, just looked up your house on Google earth. Seems like I do have a major advantage over you. Being that I have a south facing wall. Good luck. Last edited by lemon; 04-05-08 at 01:21 PM. |

Yeah - thats a bit of a pain. Not really got the space to stick it on a pole in the garden...I was just wanting it for the footy so I think I can get those channels. What are the softcam keys ?? (noob alert)

Bear in mind that I am just as new to this as you so this is my understanding of things and may be wrong ![]() The softcam key file basically has a lot of keys on it for accessioning encrypted channels and is used in addition to the patch. |
