Default Pacino 1x flashing using IFA 3.1.1 problem

I connected my Sagem box to my pc (through router) using a crossover cable. Then i selected my pacino image and selected my network card and put no to null modem.
It starts installing saying 'flashing image' but it stays on that bit and has been for over 20minutes, i looked at the log and it said transfer was succesful then below that it says transfer unsucessful.
On my tv screen it says IFA is working on your box.
Not sure what i am doing wrong.

Cheers

hi ,if you going through a router i dont think you use a crossover just normal,it would be easier going from pc to dbox with crossover cable

Hi mate,

Thanks for the reply.
I have only got one ethernet port on my pc, do i need another?
If i plug crossover cable from pc to dbox direct, it comes up with no network cable on my local connection.

If i did it through my router do i just use a normal ethernet cable?

Sorry to be a pain.
Cheers

try this,
First of all you need to make sure you can communicate with your box.
Press the dbox button go to settings press ok, scroll down to the network option again press ok. Look for your ip address of your box (it will look like this 192.168.000.100).
Right this number down.

Now go to the control panel on your computer and look for network connections, open that up and it will give you a number of network options.
You should have one saying local area connection. Double click on that and it will open the properties box. Across the top you should see some tabs; one of these will say general. If it's not already open on this press the tab.

Now you will have a number of options in the box below. Scroll down the following option internet protocol (tcp/ip) highlight that and press the properties tab below.

This will open a box that allows you to set your ip address manually.
You should have 2 options. Click on the option saying "use the following ip address" On pressing this it will allow you to put in the ip address you require.
Make this ip address within one number away from the one in your box. For e.g. in this case it would be 192.168.000.101 (using the eg ip above).
Just click on the submask below and it will automatically put in the following 255.255.255.0
Now click ok and then close.

Now connect a network cable from you computer to you dbox.

Cheers, already did that when i tried to flash image originally through router.

Only problem i have with what you said is when i connect the modem cable to my pc then i dont have an extra port to plug in a network cable from pc to dbox (as the only ethernet port is taken up by modem connector).

Is it worth trying a null modem cable from pc to dbox? Or getting a normal network cable and just going through my router?
Cheers for your help so far mate.

i see what you mean.

So crossover from pc to dbox. Where does null modem cable go from/to? and is it just a null modem cable or is there a particular type?
