dont buy plasma!!!!!! you will regret it
almost evryone i know that owns a plasma has had problems it the image gets embedded in the screen............ e.g. say you are watchin sky sports 1......... and you watchin some football the logo in the top right corner will become embedded in the screen so evry channel u go on it will be there and u will have to go to a channel with a blank screen and leave it there for about 10 minutes before it goes i work at an electrical retailer and its happened to evry plasma on display (including a 50" samsung plasma) lcd >>>>>> plasma trust me |

The latest range of plasma's have been designed with features which prevents screenburn, also its advised that you should bed the plasma in for the first (200 I think it was) hours of viewing with the contrast set to under 50, which will go a long way to stopping screenburn
I have a 2 year old Samsung LCD, my friend has a panny LCD, and I'm green with envy with the way it upscales SD material, the brilliant black levels, and the way it copes with live football better than mine I'd swap tomorrow if I had the dosh |

Just go out and have a look and make your own mind up. I went plasma nearly 18 months ago after extensive tests and I still haven't seen a LCD panel that I consider better than the plasma.

I have a 50in plasma sammy, everything connected to it, PC, 360hd, cable etc, the only thing i found was if i left the pc on without screensaver for 10 minutes it would burn a slight image at the top, when using as normal i noticed it disappears after a few minutes.
Anyway back to plasma Vs lcd, Plasma anyday, seen alot of lcd and the quality is ****e compared to plasma and i dont have to be a tv engineer to see that. Noticed alot of peeps buy panasonics, viera......utter , the quality is bad, and also they had the panasonic range on gadgets, gadgets, gadgets and asked cameramen who filmed f1 to test out 5 tv's, a standard tube'd tv won , panasonic came last for quality in lcd range.I have had my sammy over a year, on approx 16 hours daily everyday, not an hitch Foxy |

My 14" crt looks pretty good compare with my 42" plasma when viewed from the same distance.
However, I cant see the picture without binoculars and then all the lines appear. ![]()
