Fellows- this may seem a daft question, but I would appreciate a reply!
Is it possible to by-pass using winrar/winzip in order to patch/loader,etc. for technomate 1000 series? Thank you.

No, software files sent to the receiver have to be uncompressed.

But you can use a free de-compressor program like 7-Zip though
