Updating Problem - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

I have a DITV 1000 T and I am in a telewest area. I have finally managed to set the net id using libdebug (well I assume so as the net ID has changed in the engineers menu) , but following this I inserted the newly programmed card expecting to update but the screen just stays blank and I am unable to change the channel.

Alternatively I have tried programming a card with netid1.6 and rebooted the box it is saying that the box is being updated and the logo in the bottom right of the screen has changed from ntl to telewest but it just stays as if it is updating saying do not switch off. How long should I give it to update?

I would really appreciate it if anyone can offer any advice on what i maybe doing wrong, I am at my wits end.

Take ur card out, switch the box off wait it for 2-3 minutes then swich back on and give it about 20 minutes, it should work if it doesn't try again and again about 3times that worked 4me just on the weekend.

Was the box originally on telewest?? or has it been taken to ntl and used there ?? if so (hence the ntl spalsh screen) then it wont work in tw unless you remove the chips and flash them with a dump from TW

Thanks guys, firstly I will try your idea cabuukar as it sounds simpler but which of the ways I have tried does your suggestion work for the Libdebug or netid funcard?

As stated I have tried both the Libdebug and managed to change the net ID but it just gets stuck updating when I reboot with the newly programmed funcard, alternatively when I try the netid 1.6 it also stuck in an update screen.

Has anyone else had a similar problem if so what was your solution?

fez seems like marc has answered ur problem especialy since u got the nthell logo, think its wrong box, no use trying other things unless u flash the chips.

1000t should work ok in t/w, depending if the stb has had no update mods done to it ...have you tried the 4321 trick
