Angry Um.. TT C-1501 stopped working?

Hi all,

Thanks to this forum and the people here I've had cable hooked to my pc for a while now, all been working very well..

I've used ProgDVB for the majority of the time, however it's unsteadiness led me to experiment with DVB Viewer last week - which worked very well and is the better app by far!!

However, all of a sudden a couple of days ago, DVB Viewer stopped working; it would simply say something on the lines of "no signal". It does seem however that the EPG worked. After failing to solve the issue I reinstalled ProgDVB which then displayed the error "ProgDVBEngine - Device NOT Started". So it's something to do with the actual card!

I decided to format my computer today (I do this a lot and it's the best way to find a sollution ) but I'm not able to find any channels in DVB Viewer when doing a scan - I know ProgDVB will show the same message if I try that again.

I'll spend tomorrow trying to fix the issue - maybe putting the card into another PCI slot or something but in the mean time any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Edit: in a PURE HELL area, using drivers that came with the card, cable directly attached to the card (never needed anything to 'boost' the signal)

Edit2: used ProgDVB provided in the dloads section, used latest DVB Viewer, PC spec: AMD 3000+, 1GB mem, K-Lite Codec Pack for video codecs..

So chiggz, Hi, what do you subscribe to from the cc? bb+basic tv, bb only, nothing. because my first thought is that your feed may have been disconnected then again it's strange the EPG works. have you checked that the cc are not doing maintainace work in your area?

You'll more than likely tried this - in progdvb I think it's settings/device list click on your card then start, or try stopping it then start! only things I can think of at this time of day. good luck.

^^ Subscribe to the whole pack [basic], although only got BB for upstairs (where I wanna get this to work).

I didn't know they could turn off the feed - can they do this for upstairs only and keep it for downstairs?

Yes, I've tried starting/stopping. My guess is it's the feed if it's possible - either that or the card has somehow died.

Thanks for the help..

I'll post back with whatever else I figure out..

chiggz mate, seems I was not very clear with my reply. they can't turn one off, if you'r bb is working your feed is ok. and if you have the base pack tv and this is working, then maybe it is your tv card. you've checked the card is seated correctly in your pc and all cable connections at both ends (up and down)? I doubt the card could die just like that. have you a stb that you could try on that cable to make sure it is working.

I can't imagine the card just somehow stop working by itself too..

I've finally managed to bring up the STB and a spare TV and yes, the cable works perfectly well.

If the card is not the problem, I'm left to believe a Windows Update has somehow caused the problem. I guess I'll be formating again and trying the card first thing, before sorting out the internet, etc..

Edit: done the above (clean install of windows and then the card) and moved the card to another PCI slot.. still no luck .. i give up
