Got the Philex Variable attenuator from b&q £4!!
Got cable from white box on wall, splitter then one coax to b.b the other to my ev box...tinkered around with the red variable control.....Results as follows:-
When goin into fast install and qualiy ..now showing at 79%
60-70% of channels now working fine without breaking up...these tend to be from thehigher freqency range...movies...sports all ok...strange thing is they are showing level and quality as 70-71% ???
Anything coming through under 480 hrz frequency no joy!!! breaking up still!!
Damn !!

Easy, i started to kinda have that problem, i just played about with that red controller at the back, and set in in between ... so that all the channels would work.

so if the S*Y Sp*rts worked but BBC was pixelating, i would move it up or down so that BBC is woking again then check that the Sp*orts one is aswell. case of trial and error!

mine seems to work best at 78% but urs mite be diffrent, keep trying diffrent levels, you'll soon crack it!

Let us know man!

VK!

well done and another tip for you if setting a variable attenuator check your signal levels at a transponder close to 450mhz and the again at your highest transponder freq and if you can get these 2 as close as possible then you'll be set at the best setting for it.

Thanks for the advice agdgetfiend....funny last night...i hadthe main coax line into a splitter ...then one feed goin to the b.b the other to another splitter ...this was feeding the vm box and the attenuator goin into the EV box ....managed to get most channels working and stable ....some freq channels coming in at 78-80 quality sky screen 1/2 e.t.c ....others coming in at 70-72 quality...sky modern/other movies
Seems aparent to me that the new line they fitted 4 weeks ago has a really strong signal dont you think ??
Ill defo be trying your advice tonight anyway m8 :O)
