Default Anyone had this problem?

I've got a 5 month old Eurovox Max V black and it has been very good until today.

It appears to have lost the red channel from its RGB output, i.e the picture is bluey and reds are practically black.

Usually this type of thing is a SCART problem but I have swapped leads and sockets on the telly as well as the Eurovox. Also its composite output is fine as is RF.

I have reflashed the box (it is running the 18/4 firmware) but the problem persists.

Anyone got any advice or seen this problem before?

Thanks in advance
Regards
B Hedge

Doesn't seem to be SCART cable related as I swapped them around and tried both outputs on the 'vox and all of them on my TV.

Yes I have seen this before - think you need to change the tv settings in the menu from RGB video output to the other option - cannot remember what its called. Let me know if you have problems and I'll have a look at my friends box to be more precise.

Yes I've tried changing the option back and forth from composite to RGB in the TV settings menu.

It has been working since Christmas on RGB and indeed my TiVo was recording the professionals off it when it went blue - 26 mins into the Professionals it suddenly goes blue in the space of one frame.

Odd and a pain too. I hope it's fixable by fiddling with the menus and not by more invasive methods. I am open to suggestions.

I'm beginning to think it must have been a SCART cabling problem.

It mysteriously went right overnight but then reappeared this morning but this time I fixed it by fiddling with said SCART cables.

It is odd that I managed to swap cables and sockets yet inadvertently recreate the problem each time.

I am still worried that it might be a dry joint inside the Eurovox that only causes a problem once it's warmed up. Anyone else think that could be the case or had similar?

Yes, I have seen dry joints on the pcb, will be on the scart socket, easy fix with a soldering iron.

Yes it happened again this morning. Come to think of it it's only been happening since the weather got warmer and it only seems to be occurring during the late morning (the hottest part of the day) so I think something is expanding and causing a dry joint to separate.

I've contacted the chap on eBay I bought it from to see what the warranty situation is and he's replied but is on holiday (hopefully that's not a fob-off). What is the warranty situation with the makers themselves if the eBay guy is evasive, anyone know?

I'm not going to get the soldering iron out until I've checked the warranty but as you say it sounds like a dry SCART socket joint. I can't help thinking the back needs to be a bit more solid around the sockets.
