To access the Advanced menu (hidden):
- Go to Menu> SETUP - Press RED, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE - 2 options appear: Antenna Setting Manual Tune - In Antenna Setting select your Antenna Type (Fixed*, SCD, Motor*, SMATV) - Setup as required and then use Manual Tune to search for the channels. There is another hidden menu, only accessed whilst in the first hidden menu. To access the second hidden menu: Press RED, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE You may have to try it several times before it appears. A menu named Hidden Menu appears. These menus really open up the Foxsat. I'm really pleased with mine - two receivers for the price of one!

Just one small sh!ty thing about the Foxsat box, is that you can only go to 1 decimal place. I can't get the usuals to work using this box, for usuals and had to tune the satellites individually, but that is nothing and in my opinion it gives a better tuning anyway. Overall I am, like the Stick, very happy with the box.
There are some people who are not too happy that the composite connection has been zapped by one of the updates, now their TV which have no HDMI connection cannot be used for watching HD, but that is more to do with their TVs than the Humax software. The connection has been disabled because of digital rights and whilst it dies not affect me, I do not think that it is right that Sly HD boxes have still got their composite connection usable. I do not see how doing this to the Humax can in any way be stop those who want to copy the content that this move was intended to protect, they would have to be very stupid to use such a method to copy anything, but the Yanks always get their way. The real annoying thing is that whilst those with Freesat boxes and a non HD ready TV cannot receive HD TV, whilst those with a Sly HD box can have what they like, and it is Sly who are broadcasting films in HD, the BBC, for all they show, only seem to show their own content and therefore that digital rights should have nothing to do with it. As for ITV HD it is a woeful tale, the only things that they have had on their HD, so far, has been the Champions League Final and the Euro Cup Games and even then the Champions League Final was not meant to have been seen by those with a Freesat box. So the box is very good, they should never have disabled the composite connection, for HD TV and the HD programming is poor, to say the least. Things have to improve, they cannot get much worse. Very best regards Wez

Hi mate, they are very easy to use and the picture, even in SD using the HDMI cable is far better than the scart one. There are a few other HD channels on other satellites which you can view, if your motorised. See we have another Gers fan on here now, the more the better.
Plenty of water in the rivers for you now mate so no excuses, get at them. Very best regards Wze

There is a way round this - for the moment, at least. In non-Freesat mode, BBC HD is still viewable/recordable via the analogue outputs (though sometimes you need to channel hop back and forth a few times before BBC HD stays on - if the picture doesn't go black after 20 seconds, you're all right). Of course, you can't get ITV HD in non-Freesat mode, so this workaround only applies to the Beeb.

![]() Must admit, you are on the ball(like Spain) Bob[/quote] Hi Bob. I was referring to the fact that you have a fully-capable FTA box with the ability to drive a motor/switch etc. and also an idiot-proof STB with proper EPG etc. when in Freesat mode. It's just such a shame that the results of a transponder scan are wiped out when you switch between the two modes. I can understand why this happens though. Interesting comment from Davei regarding the composite issue too. The restriction doesn't bother me in the slightest, but it flippin' well would do if my TV didn't have HDMI!
