A new software update has gone live today (ver. 1.00.10). The good news is that the workaround for getting analogue output of HD channels with DRM still works.

There have been a few refinements with the update. New aspect ratio/picture formats have become available, which is excellent, and lip-sync has been improved.

A bit OT I know, but I swapped up a 29" Sony for a 40" Samsung LCD and as long as you sit the correct distance from the screen, the latter blows the old Sony into the dirt IMO.

Eight to ten feet is fine. That's not exactly palacial dimensions.

I know I'm not going to convince you, but I was of the same opinion until I swapped (...eventually changed it because the sound was going west) and the improvement is dramatic.

Whether it was worth the money or not is another matter. I personally think it was, but it's an awful lot of cash to spend on a TV.

Out of interest why go down the Sam route when Sony is just as cheap
well when I say cheap, 40 inch sony lcd at Tessie Cohens under £400
last month, hell yesterday they had sonys on the wall at over £2K.
On another point is that pub still open called Dr Brightons, it was near the lanes last time I was in Brighton (30 years ago)
