Default Weak signal?

Hi to all.
I was wondering if there is anything availlable that will boost a weak cable signal.
My brother had a dbox and his subbed box and everything was fine until he upgraded the subbed box to a v+ box.
Both boxes work but it seems that the signal strength is too weak to support them both as there are channels missing on the dbox and a bit of pixellation on the v+ box most notably setanta sports 2.
Any solutions out there?
Is there a viable booster he could buy?
Thanks in advance.....clapton64

It did work for me as I had to run a cable of about 60 feet around to the back of the house to connect other box. I was only getting sound, but after I got the booster I got both picture and sound

I was wondering if one of these bad boys would help me to get a few channels where the signal is around the 40000 mark? I'm in an analogue area so not sure if this would help increase the signal or not? I've posted a few times on this subject but found this post and thought I'd try a shot in the dark...

I'm using just my nokia dbox2, no original box as I just use the broadband feed coming into the house but that is fed from the box outside into my loft conversion and not into the living room where I have my dbox.

Any advice greatly received....

Robbo if you are getting a broadband signal into your house, how can it be analogue. My advice is if it is a long distance to your other box the i would consider getting a booster.

Darrenm72,

I can get broadband as can anyone who is in a analogue cabled street but they just haven't upgraded to give us digital yet (even though I was told 2 years ago we'd have it by end of 2006!). I was hoping someone might know if a booster would help with getting the rest of the channels where my signal isn't strong enough. On Sly Sports 1,2,3, MUTV etc the SER is around the 40000 mark although I know it needs to be around 60000. Would a booster make any difference?

Cheers
