I see ok, so I'm obviously on the right points otherwise i'd get no bk at all.
Btw is there a method of finding the bk if you know the ird? Also can cable updates corrupt data on cards making it give u false bk's?

cable updates wouldnt effect your box, only sometimes to the card, if your box was subscribed and you cancel subsicription there is a change that vm will send a fake bk to ur card not to the box, but if can jtag or led simm you will get the real bk & ird

dont think this was sub, not under my ownership anyways. So there is a chance that this tit2 card might be AU to give fake bk's. Even so it seems even via jtag I'm getting all sorts of k's at times. I'm assuming jtag doesnt work without the card in the box either.

card doesnt need to be in the box for jtagging.

Finally got to the end of this messed up dilemma!

Thanks everyone who replied to my help.
Cheers Ciwan for the detailed guide and the advice.
After all this time it wasn't anything to do with the way I was programming because that was all ok, it was all to do with the way I was jtagging and getting the 'real' info from it all.
reddiesel's info on getting jtag info in debug mode and jimbo letting me know that I can jtag without the card inserted (as obvious as it sounds) actually helped a lot haah so cheers! I'm sure that tit2 card inserted was giving me those odd random numbers

But BIG thanks to ouzi1212 you the man heh!

Thanks for your efforts helping me see this damn box resurrected. I don't even want to mention how much time I spent on this since Friday and it's almost 5am now. Celebrations wooooo
