Help resurrecting my Sammy SMT-2100C

Hi there.

1st post and I’ve decided to jump into something I haven’t a clue about. But I’ve been reading all day so I’ve made some attempt into understanding some things… although I haven’t got very far haaaaa it’s been tiring so I’ve posted this.
Basically my modded silver sammy box has been out of order & in the dust for about a month now.
I’ve decided I wanted to try and sort this out myself from now on.

So here’s the info I’ve got on what I have if it’s all relevant…
- Samsung SMT-2100C
- Titanium card 2
- PC has rs232 com port (as well as many usb 2.0 ports)
- Have bigmaq toolbar

Now the tools I need to buy I take are…
* jtag unit
* usb phoenix programmer
*fun card

Correct? Will I still need a fun card even though I have Titanium 2?

Could someone please list all the software I will need thanks.

I take it the best place to order would be from lincsat?

The last time I tried this box, all that showed working was the standard free TV channels like 1-5. everything else had error messages of some sort.

the card you have been using should have the ird and bk on it.if that is the one thats been in the box and thats the one the pewrson who programmed it will have the details you need.

all that has happened is what you are saying,updates.

so all you need to do is programme the card (i actualy use a funcard) with the au (automatic update) flash,this means when they bring out new keys your card will auto update itself.

read the xteep off the card and you can get the ird and bk and reprogramme it (or a funcard) with the xteep again,with the ird and bk but,with auto updating flash/firmware.

so yes first thing first you need a programmer,infinity is good and either use the card you got or a funcard,i can only speak for funcard as its all i use.

All you need to do right now is get yourself a phoenix programmer, then go to cable files on the bigmaq toolbar and download the complete tianium 2 you`ll get a better understanding of whats what, then post another thread, also keep the card you`ve got

Welcome to Techwatch we'll get you up and running in no time

IRD and Box Key (BK) are just numbers !! BUT very important numbers cause they are UNIQUE to your box And for you to get that awesome Nat Geo Wild channel, you will need them two numbers (the IRD and the BK) in order to programe you card.

I would recommend the Infinity USB Unlimited Programmer (the best one). Also Funcard4 are the best in my opinion (cause they are sooooo easy to do )

Try extracting the Exteep file from you Titanium Card that you have. By the way an exteep is just a file that has them two magical numbers we need

If that doesn't work (it didn't for me when I was new to all of this, I had a Titanium Card and was in the exact same situation as you) then you will need to buy a Pogo Jtag from Mr Lincsat (very helpful person, I bought many stuff from him, and I'm 100% happy.......GO LINCSAT)

I think that is as far as we'll go for today's lesson hehehehe

Yes sireee I’ll will keep the titanium 2, though I will get a fun card on top as well (seems to be more popular and easy to use...I think). Yaa I knew there might have been something useful out of installing that bigmaq toolbar.... "hmmmmmmm bigmaq/c"

A better programmer is either the dynamite plus or the infinity usb phoenix these are true phoenix programmers and wont give you aggro when trying to read mosc cards or titanium etc,the other infinity the unlimited uses VCP (Virtual ComPort) and this can be a real pain in the ass to set up !!!
BUT the first two i mention require a serial port on the pc to work,whereas the other one works over usb alone which isnt as good .
And as your pc already has serial ports then go for true phoenix programmers mate instead of pretend ones
Other than that all you need is already here

Okay got my items this morning (thanks lincsat).
I've not been entirely lazy I've done a few steps on my own... hopefully the right ones haa.
So I’ve used Samsung Debug tool (sdt 2100) to find out the netid, ird, and BK.
Thing is when I found out what the ird was, it was the same number that was hand written on the bottom of the box by the person who used sort this out for me in the past lol.
Was I stupid to buy a jtag if the ird was already written?? But then I would have needed the BK anyways with jtag right?
NOW the sammy box just stops at LD:20 for some reason when I try to use jtag again (ok when not jtag'n).... I hope I haven’t really messed something up here. But I’ve got my ird and bk so that's ok now yes?

Also there were two sam 2100 models to choose from when dumping keys in sam debug tool:
- Sam 2100 - (Davic) 0x00931BE4
- Sam 2100 - (Ex C&W) 0x00941460

How would I know which ones I should have gone for? I got a snapshot for each results saved. Ird and net id were the same but different BK's.


So now I've installed 'Infinity USB Unlimited' and downloaded the latest software for it (v2.71 firmwarev1.05).

That's as far as I’ve got. I don't think I want to attempt to do more and confuse the hell out of myself.
So what should I do now people?
Taking into account I now have a fun4 card also and the titanium 2 card which I was using.
Also dl'd and installed ocd commander (if I need it).

Please make it simple and detailed for me if possible. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks
