Default blade 2x Image problem

Hi Guys ive got a problem. My Dbox was working merrily yesterday running sportster 1.7 so i thought id try some other images out see if they make differce in terms of quality and functionality so i installed the Blade 2x image from the download section, now the box is stuck. The LCD on the box shows the virgin media logo and on the screen it shows the blade image but thats it stuck wont move any further. ive tried rebooting several times made no difference. Tried re-flashing the boxing with Laky-pro image using IFA but couldnt establish a connection with the box via crossover as i think after you flash a box it changes the network details so without getting into the box i cant really check what the new network settings are, so im a stuck now.. any ideas guys

There is no reason why the Blade 2 image will not work although you would probably be better going for the newer Blade Quad. Humforce is correct in what he says - it's just a pain sometimes using IFA.

Well so far ive tried about 15 times same thing.. nothing seeme to happen. looking at the dbox manager that running in background it says fail to ping each time. Mind you im only using a crossover cable as i dont currently have a null modem cable , ive orderd one today. since the programme gives it as an option im not too sure if that essential for the process or not

The null modem cable sends visual info to your PC / laptop about what's happening. So whilst not essential it is very useful for times like this when you could do with seeing what is going on.

So basically having a null modem cable will not really make any difference will it interms of flashing the box besides providing info so what do you guys suggest it stop from pingining.. Is there no way to reset the box so there is no software so i can put a clean image from the start

There will almost certainly be some output that you could read if you had the null modem cable. This output could be a request for you to do something or perhaps more likely, an error message that will provide a clue as to your next step.
There is no "factory reset" type of function (sadly).

You may also be better off using an older version of IFA, 1.56 seems to cause less problems
