Everything was working perfectly, i was using a mosc and was recieveing all the channels, until today wehn it obviously restarted, and displayed Err 40.

I cant do anything but press rstart and the same code comes up again.
Now i want to know WHY this code has occured and HOW i can fix it.

Wink Re: Err 40 - Virgin media V+ found it

A: Hold in the Stop and Play/Pause buttons on the front panel, and press Reset. Keep Stop and Play/Pause held in until the display says 'boot'.
After a few seconds the display should say 'outpt'. Press the Fast Forward button several times until the display says 'Sd', then press OK. Wait for the V+ to reboot then you should be back in SCART mode.

Thankyou spikebaby, The problem is now sorted.
However i think you were getting my problem mixed up with something else, The unit was meant to be in hdmi mode as im using it with my LCD TV via hdmi.

basically, through research i have gathered that err 40 means a bad flash, in other words, the 512 chip is loosly connected.

However, i dont know whhy this fixed the problem, But all i did was press reset up/down and left toghether (as suggested before) until it said boot and it booted. Now I dont know wether this is a permanent fix or not.
Normally this should not have fixed it as Err 40 strictly means the 512 is not connected properly.

Thanks for the help.
