Cannot FTP to DBox2 - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

Hi all.
First, let me say that my hardware is actually a Sagem Dbox2. I realize this is a Nokia forum, but I couldn't see a Sagem one. However, as far as I can tell, the Nokia is almost the same as the Sagem except for the different number of flash ROMs. I have a problem where I cannot FTP to the dbox2. It is able to be assigned a dynamic IP address when I connect it to the internet. But if I give it a static IP (eg. 192.168.0.24) and try to ping it, the request times out. I tried using the FTA software and still no luck. It's like the dbox isn't talking back. I am only using a cross-over network cable (LAN). Would a null-modem cable solve the problem, at least to reflash the image?
I am using a neutrino image (Keywelt). If you need any more info, please ask. Also, please let me know if this post should go in to the 'other receiver' category... I'm new to this!

Update: Fixed it. The Null-Modem cable sorted out the problem. Reflashed using IFA with both network and null-modem cables, reloaded the cams and key. Back to normal... just in time for the European Cup!

hi there my dbox have no channels on it and I am using software called KeyUpdate_20v8_5B1_5D.3.8 and I cant get it to work because I don't know how to work it.Even when I plug the nul cable in nuthing happens.
plz help thanks
