hi all again.

me mate just give me a sony ericsson w880i i was wondering wether any body knows where i can download the software to unblock the phone so i can go on to a virgin sim card. i have the usb lead. i have looked every where but obviously not in the right places ah ah

just to let every one know i ended up takin mine to a lock phone shop where i was only chared £15 i think this is the best thing to do as when i asked the bloke in the shop he said they where a bit difficult to do.

that is correct... se phones are difficult to unlock and you should be knowledgeable of the unlocking procedure as you need a hardware box the remove the simlocks and on some models they have to be flash unlocked which requires flashing the phones software

CID1 and CID2 firmeware versions on SE phones can be unlocked with software obtained from the net, not something for the faint hearted either , as you can brick it , however Sony are now upgrading to CID3 , which cannot as yet be unlocked as its so new !!!

cid53 ericsson phones can be unlocked by flash unlock with setool3

CID53 can now be unlocked as the encryption has now been broken , this has only happen very recently .

cid52 db2020 phones can be unlocked with a patch and flashed with setool2 or phone xs

hello mate could you send me the details of how to find the correct patch. i've never unlocked a phone before so any help woul be much appreciated cheers
