Default Problems flashing Dbox

hi,

I have a problem after flashing a Dbox. After flashing, it will load up to "Sportster Pro
Loading Kernel"

And then nothing. I've tried reflashing and the box won't connect to the computer. Any Ideas???

Thanks

Hi,

What ftp program did you use
login root
password dbox2 or try admin

What image are you trying to flash.

Is your box single or double flash version.

thanks

Thanks for the reply,

Tried flashing by copying over the the keys file, Don't know if it's a single or double flash version. Tried to flash with the latest image from Biqmaq. Won't let me connect to the box now to enter the password. Box doesn't respond to Ping tru router or using crossover. Any ideas?

Hi.
If your Dbox is a Sagem, it is probably a 1 chip model (use the 1xI images). Nokias are more often 2 chip (use 2xI images).
Use the Image Flash Assistant software (Hallenberg.com) with an Ethernet crossover cable AND a RS232 null-modem cable. The null-modem cable is important! Disable your PC's firewall and any other network cards you may have (eg wireless). Also, set your LAN network speed/duplex mode to '10 Half Mode'.
Good luck.

It certainly looks like a corrupt file. You will need to use IFA to re-flash it now, the networking will not be starting up on the box so you won't be able to FTP or ping the box.

i had the same problem, the loading screen loaded and then the image info came on tv but then it just went 2 stanby and didnt load. Because of this u are not able to get a connection via crossover cable to use IFA or FTP methods.

I found that using just a nullcable worked NO CROSSOVER, u need to use a program called HYPERTERMINAL which is on ur windows. It takes a bit longer to flash but it does the job and is simple to flash.

If you want to know how to reflash using just a nullcable and hyperterminal just PM me and I will send you a tutorial on how to reflash using hyperterminal. It is simple step by step worked first time for me.
