LNB/Freesat question

Well, Time is running out for the Analogue channels on 19E so he might just as well be prepared to go digital. Diseqc switches are so cheap anyway.

Actually the Analogue receiver could still be used for that little big longer if a TWIN LNB was puchased instead of a single, alternatively the IF loopthrough from the digital receiver could be used to supply the analogue one, as long as the digital receiver is turned OFF.


Also if an LNB is very old and on analogue it is more than likely that it is a standard LNB and not universal, for the price of them it might as well be replaced too, to save faffing about.

If the OP needs to purchase a new LNB to go with a digital receiver, and mounts alongside another LNB for Astra1, surely he will continue to use the analogue receiver on Astra1 - why would Diseqc and single-cable come into it? It's just two independant LNB-receiver setups that in this case happen to share a dish.

If the analogue receiver LNB menu states that the LNB is using 22Khz tone band switching, it may be his original query - do I have to replace the LNB - should be answered "No, just realign the dish and attach the digital receiver."

Thanks for the answer, and looks like the best option for receiving old analog and new digital. (adding a universal LNB and coax) to a bracket.

Hi mate,
Just to let you know that you can get Eurosport free on a few satellites, but it is in French and the French would seem to be putting it out in HD also. Have a look here for all the satellites where Eurosport is broadcast http://en.kingofsat.net/find.php?que...t&standard=All
