Default 20meg speed using wireless

Hi guys, I'm using 20meg connection with my Linksys WRT54G router, wireless to my Laptop which is plenty fast enough. Whilst testing the broadband connection speed, I achieved between 13-14meg speed download and 1meg upload, is this about right or is there a restriction of some sort using a router?
