Hi all

I have recently had VM installed, which came with a Samsung SMT2110c. Anyway, I also bought myself a Starview 3 which I've flashed with the latest firmware and it's working just fine.

However, I have to say the SV software is rubbish compared to the Samsung (the EPC etc), and obviously there is no interactive/on demand facilities.

What I wondered was:

1) Which non VM box has the best software installed, both in features and how it looks?

2) Is it possible to get VM interactive/OD services on a non VM box?

3) If I buy a modded Samsung will I also need a card reader/programmer etc to keep reprogramming the card it every time the keys change, or should it autoupdate like my SV?

Sorry for all the newbie questions but I guess we all have to start somewhere eh!!

you dont have to keep on reprogramming your card it will autoupdate, for that u will need and programmer, there quite a lot of then out there, the easiest and a very good prog would be an infinity usb unlimited its based over usb lead.
You cant modify your samsung 2110c that has your details its suscripbed so its best buy from anywhere that doesnt have your details you should get box that can be jtaged or led simm to get the bk &ird.

Thanks for the quick response. I have bought a 'modded' Samsung SMT2110c off fleabay, which apparently comes with card, bk & ird. Should this AU then or will I stil need a programmer?

Not sure. Description says it can receive all channels in N*L area. Comes with N*L card.

I'm sure I've asked this question before, but I couldn't track that thread !!

Can someone tell me what fleabay is please !! I know ebay, but what the hell is fleabay LOL
