Hi,
I currently pay VM for a 20mb home user connection. The traffic shaping in this area is unbearable and I have had enough. I have just flashed an old 250 with the infinite firmware. Would I be safe using this modem with my legitimately paid for Mac address, however forcing the business 20mb dl and 1mb ul config file? Would virgin media be able to see that although my modem is a legitimate 20mb home service, I am drawing the config from a business file? Also, the older 250 is a VM modem, and although working fine the lights on the front are all over the place. Is the firmware I flashed unable to control the lights on the newer VM modems? Thanks for your advice! |

I would personally just use another Mac address for security reasons, you must have a friend who uses VM that lives a good few miles away, just use their's and force the business config which is what I have done.
