dreambox 500c cant lock onto any channels

assuming ive done everything right
ive flashed a auto update dw2 image to my dreambox 500c
get the dw screen up fine..so it obviously flashed ok
searching for channels auto transponder picks up nothing at all...nothing locks on ...
have i got a dodgy tuner

Have you checked your connection to the N*L Line?

Happened to me when I first got my box,turned out to be a crap Coax Cable.

i have eurovox as well that works perfectly when i put that in...
any more ideas how to troubleshoot this problem???

Why have you started 2 threads asking the same question

Its probably your tuner thats up the swaney

Just hope your box is genuine and not a clone otherwise you may have difficulty getting it repaired. If thats the case it would probably be cheaper for you to buy an Eagle Cablebox which is virtually identical to the DM500c

when you installed the updated was it dw 2.1 or 2.0? if it was 2.1 I not sure if it the same as all other updates at the minuted but when you go to flash the box you need to select no to erase flash.

If this is the case you will need to load 2.0 back on then reload 2.1 over but dont erase the flash.

the image installed is v2.0
are there any more checks i can do to check whether this is a hardware or software problem i have ??

You will need 2.1 as V*rgin media have change the way that the keys roll so 2.0 is void now and will not work.

You should be able to find this in the download section on this site.

or if you download Bigmaq tool bar (search google) 2.1dw is on there under updates/fixes >> dreambox (8th april)

problem now is its unwatcheable pixelating loads . box also rebooots by itself ?????
