Diablo 2.2 to 2.3 upgrade

It is now being reported that there is an upgrade available for Diablo 2.2 owners.
This is the read me statement:

Diablo Cam Update from Version 2.2 to Version 2.3

IMPORTANT NOTICE!

This software allows you to make a security update for your Diablo CAM from version 2.2 to version 2.3.
Users with version 2.2 are not obliged to make the security update to version 2.3 as version 2.2 will keep on
working.

Costs

The update has a cost of 30 Euros* and you need a CAM programmer in order to do it (Cas Interface 2+Plus,
Cas Interface 3 or Cas Interface 3+Plus).

Upgradable CAMS:

Diablo CAM Light version 2.2
Diablo CAM Wireless version 2.2

Make sure you have:

Internet Connection Activated

‐

Cas Interface 2+Plus, Cas Interface 3 or Cas Interface 3+Plus connected to your PC.

‐

Your Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard)

‐

Your Diablo CAM light or wireless version 2.2

‐

A Valid Email Address needed for activation code.

I shall report further confirmation in this thread when available, if anyone has carried out the update please post your findings.

I took a bit of a gamble and paid my 30 Euros (about £24) and upgraded my Diablo Light v2.2 cam. The update process is automated once you have paid your money! Loaded Underworld 1.09 and additional packages cleared as promised.

I know it's still early days yet but lets hope support continiues.....

There seems to be a backlash over the way duolabs have handled this matter and one forum is boycotting even discussing their products.
Personally I don't think they have acted too badly as the Diablo 2.2 still opens Premiere, Polsat, TPS and Digi TV, and they have allowed people the option to upgrade for a reasonable price.
It all depends how long you have had your Diablo 2.2 cam, if you bought it just because of the new underworld files then you have a genuine grievance, depending on the price you paid.
The new Diablo 2.3 is close to £90 whereas the older cam was a lot cheaper, even with the cost of the upgrade the cam should work out about the same or even cheaper.
It all depends on how long the support is going to last so I will reserve my judgement on duolabs for a couple of months.

Im wondering if that means when the next underword comes out they will not allow it in there files section

I was thinking this is this is more to do with the fact their shop is a big digitalb seller rather than anything to do with a moral standing

Dose any other site hold the underworld files

You can find them on quite a few places on the internet, and if you have a look in the Satellite Help & Support section you will find a download link for some satellite files.
I think you're right about the DigitAlb connection, although there were a number of posts regarding the way duolabs marketed the underworld files, and the new cam, before the latest file containing DigitAlb, but I think the upgrade solution is not a bad compromise.

this is interesting so i could buy a cheap diablo 2.2 cam and play 30 euros and upgrade the cam to 2.3

Yes, but the Q Box has also finally been released, with the built in Diablo 2.3, so it will be interesting to see how much that is.
