Default I just lost my ASTRA 1 in Damascus

Hello,

I've been receiving my favorite TV programs from Holland in Damascus for the last 2 years using a registered CanalDigital card, a Humax receiver and a big dish. Since yesterday morning I've lost the ASTRA 1 signal. It's not only me, but everybody here using this satellite lost the signal.

Is there anyone with some info on this matter???

Thanks!

Cheers,
wiu2b

Hi and welcome to Techwatch, I have not heard anything about Astra 1 being down, it was OK with me on Pr*m during the day and at night. I did see on, another forum, that some were having trouble with curtained boxes, here is a copy of the post regarding the matter

"Yes some thing which effected ES & EL 2300 and now is down.
Others and T-Rex still working fine"

Not very much help to you maybe, but all that I have heard about Astra 1.

Very best regards Wez

There were a couple of reports early evening uk time that the Dutch channels were unavailable, although they were ok when I looked about 2000BST last night.

Thanks very much for your quick response. If 'curtained boxes' means some canals of my subscription like NED1, NED2, NED3, NGC NOT working, but some others like RTL4, RTL7, Eurosport, Discovery, Animal Channel ARE working during daytime, then you are very right. The signal indicator says ZERO, quality 23% for the canals that are working.

BTW I'm talking about ASTRA 19.2 receiving from Damascus, Syria with a 1.6 m dish.

Cheers!

Several 19E frequencies, including both the Dutch transponders have moved to Astra 1L. This bird is not available in the Middle East without a VERY big dish.

Not many reports of the signal strengths for Asta 1L on the KingofSat site:
