Default Mac address sniffing , Help Please?

Hello all , i hope someone can help here. I got a flashed modem which i was planning on setting up on a friends PC. I need to run DHCP force to sniff out Macs to swap, unfortunately their connection to the internet is turned off so I cant sniff out Macs from their location. Can I sniff out Macs from my location for them? we are both in the same area so I'm assuming they wont be able to use these Macs but will they be able to use these Macs to swap?

help please
cheers

If it's the same area, eg. 2 mile radius, then you can't use the Macs you have found without effecting another person's connection. You need a Mac from a different UBR/area.
