Default Dish set up?

Hi set motor dish on thor, technomate 1500 ci+ 94% and strength 72% is the best i can get .astra and hotbird ok every thing else is weak? when i go to adjust it i noticed there is play in the motor shaft could this be my problem? any ideas Thanks...

Depends how much play there is. Try changing the satellite angle on the weaker ones a bit and see if you can get it better. If it doesn't improve then it has nothing to do with the motor play.

I get 80% on 11325H on Thor with my 1.1m dish.

Thanks once again for quick reply robbo, will give it ago asap, My dish is mouted outside the bedroom window and its a ladder job every time i want to make any adjustments. Is the angle the same as if it were ground mounted? Cheers...

Yes, it is . A few metres doesn't make much difference when the thing you are trying to point at is 22,000 miles away.


I suspect that your problem is more likely to be that you are not tracking the arc well enough, but having a motor that doesn't go quite where you told it too, would just make matters worse.
