More Dreambox 500c help - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

My cousin has given me 3 500c's (all oem's) to flash with the latest image,2 are running dw v2,the other is nutrenio?or something havent even tried that one yet.I've used dreamup to reflash the first 2 with dw v2.1 which seems to have worked as when I power them up I'm getting the correct start screen,my problem is neither will let me do a search for channels,their just saying service could not be found,I've just realised that in the set up menu srevice searching has disappered,don't know what to try next any help please?Thanks Will

hi m8 when u do flash it will ask u 1. erase flash. 2a-say nein to erase flash

I hear what your saying lads,I read soundpimp's post in the other thread before I posted,and when it asked I said no to overwrite but for some reason it's still not working for me.

choices are ftp file into /tmp folder ang flash thru settings...

or dreamup with null modem.

or
This method will only work with a .img image file.

Rename the image file to backup.img
FTP the image file to the /tmp folder on the dreambox
Telnet to your box and paste the following command:

cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot

To telnet, click START > RUN and type Telnet ip.address.of.dreambox
A command window will appear, enter username root and password dreambox.

hi, try using the nutrenio image. I havnt managed to get the new 2.1dw working correctly but the nutrenio image works gr8. If ur having probs finding it drop me a pm and ill link u to it
