well you will need a box to starts and depending on the box, you need either jtag or led simm with these you can the box info Bk & ird, these are really important when doing boxes. it also depends on ur area some boxes will not work in certen places.

It depends what box you get, j tag or led simm can be got from lincsats nick nack shop on here, before you start read the pace cable guide(novice angel guide) or cable for dummies from downloads, it tells you what box works where and everything you need, look in the downloads post in private fta section for access

If its a pace 2000 model then jtag and led simm will not work. if you have a card you can read of that, well ditv 2000 is not the right box if your thinking to modify its really hard specially if your new to all this.
