nolia DBox 2 Frozen & Remote Doesn't work

Right, I've got a Nokia Dbox 2 with Sportster 1.7. My remote control isn't working, I've bought a new one and that doesn't work. The channel is frozen, I can change it manually but none of the other channels have the epg. I don't know the IP address so I can't access it from my PC, what is there left to do? Is the game over? If anyone is the Manchester area who might be able to help that'd be great. Any help appreciated. Ta.

link ur pc to the dbox go into command prompt on the pc and type arp -a it may show u the box ip address.

if not and u r using the default ip then it's

address 192.168.0.4
broadcast 192.168.0.255
gateway 192.168.0.1
netmask 255.255.255.0

Get the Image Flashassistent from "Hallenberg" ..
and Flash your Dbox new..

I made every month a Backup of my running system..
so i Prefer you should do that in future, too
If you like a "Dreambox Near" image ( more Graphical support)
then you can also try a PB-Enigma image
in Those images There are Online Updates, if the Box is conected to Internet you can easy update your system with the Latest Emus or Keys, and Settings

have the box on reboot ur pc and leave the box on try a couple of times

Not able to get any connection, tried rebooting PC, tried the default IP address, no luck. How do I reflash the box? Can I do this if I don't know the IP address? Is there anything I need to reconfig in teh network connections?

With image flashing assistant you do not need to know the network settings it sorts it out itself.

Grab a decent image and reflash and hopefully you will be up and running in no time.

just make sure your network card is set at 10 BaseT half duplex all firewalls and antivirus switched off

it´s not necessary to set 10BaseT! only a fixed IP!
use the latest Hallenberg Flashassistent (3.2 i think)

10BaseT has nowt to do with the IP its the connection type. I have found several flash failures without using this, so always reccommend, but everyone has there own practices.
