RS232 to USB
hello there need a bit of help i have a dynamite plus programmer and i am using the usb connection as i only have usb2.0 on my laptop,the thing is the other day i got a RS232 to usb of fleabay the other day as i want to read cards...so i tryed to load the drivers for it but they don`t seem to work is there any were i can down load some from for it.....thanks fto_1

Avoid USB 2 RS232 converters - they do not generate enough voltage, thus not fully compatible with some devices. Also the drivers might be a problem, especially older software has a problem using the "artificial" serial ports.
An USB 2 RS232 convertor runs new about 30e - for the about the same price you can get an older PC off eBay, with REAL ports. There are also miniature PCs for the same price if you're lucky to find one and space is a problem. Someone told me once the 486s are the best in this respect. |
