The driver will only be any good if you have the adapter that the driver is for (i.e. the adapter sold in maplins). If this is the adapter u have then u can download the driver for free off their website.

If you are using an rs232 to USB adapter, don't forget that you still need to use an rs232 NULL MODEM cable as well.

nope you need a RS232 null modem cable (F to F) like this one http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...modem&doy=18m5
